About The Tractor Centre

Your Local Tractor & Machinery Specialists

Now Zealand’s biggest used tractor dealership was established in the township of Pukekohe in 1986 when it was originally called Connor & Hood. In 1994 the iconic company took on the new name – The Tractor Centre.

Today, The Tractor Centre is a well-established tractor dealer in Pukekohe, serving South Auckland, Franklin, and surrounding rural communities. In 2001, the business expanded into a purpose-built 10-acre site with a modern showroom and extensive workshop facilities, allowing us to better support farmers, contractors, and lifestyle block owners.

We supply and support a wide range of agricultural and lifestyle machinery, including tractors, mowers, UTVs, and ground care equipment. As a locally owned and operated business, our team is proud to support the community and deliver practical, reliable solutions backed by decades of experience.

Our Team

Our Brands

Where is The Tractor Centre located, and what areas do you serve?

We’re based at 7 Heights Road, Paerata, Pukekohe 2676, making us an easy run for customers across South Auckland and the wider Franklin area. Whether you’re on a lifestyle block, running a farm operation, managing turf, or buying for a contracting fleet, our goal is to be the place you can get answers quickly—sales, parts, and servicing—without being bounced between suppliers.

If you’re unsure whether we’ll come to you, ask us: our team regularly supports customers off-site as well as in our Pukekohe workshop, and we’ll point you to the fastest option for your job and your downtime window.

How long have you been operating in Pukekohe?

The Tractor Centre was established in 1936 in Pukekohe (originally known as Comrie & Hood) and became The Tractor Centre in 1994. In 2001, the business expanded and moved to a 10‑acre site with a purpose-built building (noted as 24,000 square feet with a high stud), allowing more of the operation to run under one roof. That long history matters for customers because it reflects a business built around long-term support—helping people buy the right machine, keep it running, and get parts and repairs sorted when time is tight.

What does “one-stop shop” mean at The Tractor Centre?

“One-stop shop” means you can come to us for more than just a sale. Our site is set up to support the full ownership cycle: a stocked parts department, workshop servicing and repairs, and a fleet of on-site servicing vehicles for field work when needed.

We also offer specialist capabilities that are not always found at a typical machinery dealer, including in-house engineering, panel & paint (including restoration), and turf-care support. For customers, this reduces hand-offs, speeds up troubleshooting, and usually shortens downtime—especially during peak season when every day counts.

We also operate an equipment hire fleet with options suited to short-term needs and longer project work.

What brands and equipment do you sell and support?

We stock and support a mix of tractors, implements, side-by-sides, and outdoor power equipment so we can match the right tool to the job—whether that’s lifestyle block maintenance, commercial mowing, or full-time farm work.

Key ranges on our site include Massey Ferguson tractorsFendt tractorsIseki compact tractors/mowersPolaris side-by-sides/ATVsHusqvarna outdoor power equipment, and Walker Mowers mowing systems.

We also carry supporting equipment lines like Hustler feeding gear and Stevens chipper shredders. The best way to confirm fit is to tell us what you’re doing (terrain, acreage, tasks, towing/lifting needs), and we’ll narrow options quickly.

For a lifestyle block: should I get a compact tractor, UTV, or mower?

Start with the jobs you do most often. If you need lifting, shifting materials, grading driveways, post-hole digging, or running implements, a compact tractor with a loader is usually the most versatile foundation. For many “new to acreage” owners, compact tractors are positioned as multi-task machines that can cover mowing, transporting, loading, and digging with the right attachments.

If your block has lots of stop/start tasks—moving feed, fencing gear, or tools around the property—a UTV can be the quickest “time saver.” If your top priority is finish-quality mowing (and you’re mowing frequently), choosing a purpose-built mower setup often delivers a better cut and faster cycle times than trying to make one machine do everything. For safety, follow vehicle guidance and farm-vehicle best practice—especially if using side-by-sides for work.

Talk to our team about the right setup for your block.

Are you an official Polaris dealer and can you service Polaris?

Yes. The Tractor Centre is listed as an official Polaris dealer in Pukekohe, and we also present Polaris on our site as a registered dealership offering sales and servicing options. On the Polaris range page, you’ll see the main Polaris families we support—RANGER (utility), RZR (performance), GENERAL (recreation/utility), plus youth and commercial categories.

If you’re comparing models for lifestyle block work, towing, or mixed work/play use, bring your “must-have” list (seating, tray use, towing, terrain) and we’ll help narrow it down quickly.

Are you an authorized Husqvarna dealer in South Auckland?

Yes. The Tractor Centre is an authorised Husqvarna dealer at 7 Heights Road in Paerata, Pukekohe (Auckland South). We also provide in-store services including servicing and repairsAutomower servicing/repairs and stockist capability.

If you see a Husqvarna product you like, you can call and we’ll confirm stock or order it in.  If you’re bringing equipment in, having the model details handy (and a quick description of the issue) helps the team speed up parts matching and booking.

Do you offer mobile on-site servicing across Auckland and Franklin?

Yes. We operate seven fully equipped mobile on-site servicing units. They’re available 24 hours a day, which is built for real-world downtime—breakdowns don’t politely wait for business hours.

Mobile servicing is typically the best option when a machine can’t be moved easily, when you need field support to get running again fast, or when coordinating workshop drop-off would delay repairs.

The fastest way to start is to book a service request with your machine make/model and the symptoms; we’ll confirm a time window and the right servicing approach (field service vs workshop).

What can your workshop handle besides standard tractor servicing?

Our workshop is one of the most modern and well-equipped in the country, and we provide a broad range of servicing and repairs. This includes air conditioning and agricultural/industrial/electrical repairs, alongside core servicing and fault-finding.

For anything compliance-related, we recommend confirming how your vehicle is licensed/used so the right inspection pathway is followed.

Can you source parts for older tractors and discontinued parts?

Our parts department stocks parts across multiple equipment types (including chainsaws, motor mowers, ride-on mowers, tractors, telehandlers, and more).  If a part is no longer available, our engineering department can make it—this is a major advantage for older or uncommon machines where OEM supply has dried up.

For AGCO-supported machines, we also provide an option to shop genuine AGCO parts online, with access to a large parts catalog and delivery/click-and-collect options.  The fastest path is to send make/model/year and a description (or part number if known) so we can match correctly the first time.

Do you support contractors with turf-care servicing?

Yes. We specifically note turf-care capability designed for the specialist needs of lifestyle blocks, including a mobile Turf Care Specialist and workshop facilities.  That matters because machine condition directly affects cut quality, turf health, and mowing time—especially for cylinder mowers used on premium turf.

If you’re a contractor or facility manager, the most helpful details to share up front are your mower type, reel count, current symptoms (streaking, tearing, uneven cut), and whether you need pickup/onsite support or can drop equipment in.

Where can I find current promotions and finance offers?

The quickest place to check what’s running right now is our Current Promotions page, where we publish active deals across major ranges (including tractors, hay tools, and selected packages). Promotions and finance terms can change by date, deposit, eligibility, and stock availability, so it’s best to treat the page as the source of truth and then confirm details with our team if you’re ready to act.

If you’re comparing options, have these ready: your intended use (lifestyle block vs business use), preferred repayment structure, and any trade-in details—this helps narrow down the most realistic pathway without guesswork.
